What the Model Cannot Know

The Observatory, Working with LLMs, about 8 minutes

Watch an assistant choose each word, see why it repeats last year’s dates and invents policies, and fix it with the right facts in the prompt.

Tidewater's assistant answers students with total confidence. Find out when it is wrong.

Six wings, each with a plain job

The names carry the atmosphere. The plain label beside each one says what you will find there, so nobody has to learn the lore to find a lessonquest.

How a lesson works

The first four stages are the core path, 8 to 15 minutes. Master is an optional bonus, and Revisit comes back on its own, about a minute a day. Already know a topic? Prove it straight away and move on.

Two ways to walk through it

The lessons, the grading and your progress are the same in both. Only the feel changes, and you can switch at any time without losing your place.

Classic, the scholar's way

  • A living campus to explore, with hidden rooms
  • Seals pressed in a small ceremony when you master a discipline
  • Notes that appear in the margins as you go deeper
  • Sparring with the Examiner, who argues back
  • Engraved diagrams that move when you touch them

You are in Classic

Gamified, the player's way

  • T, a companion who reacts to everything you try
  • Quests, encounters and Guardians instead of lessons and trials
  • Talent cards to collect and levels to reach
  • Sprites, pixel type and frame-by-frame motion
  • Secrets in corners only players will check

Start from a goal

Each route is the smallest set of lessonsquests that reaches the goal. Anything you already know, you can prove and skip.

12 disciplines and 80 lessonsquests of 8 to 15 minutes, about 14.6 h in all. LessonsQuests open here as they are written, starting with Caching and Cache Invalidation.

Begin with one lesson
